The Interface Project’ explores the framework of Instagram posts by forging parallels between its minimalist design and elaborate renderings of artefacts. Focusing on the functions: like, comment, share, save and the post and profile picture, six digital collages were made to study the heritage of the semiotics employed in the app. The core icons are reimagined to fit into a realm that transcends historical boundaries. Imbued with Baroque references, the artworks were produced by merging photographs with differently dated, digitally archived antiques and auto generated fields. Oysters, golden detailing and fragments of  Plymouth serve as elements of decor that commonly resurface in the artist's work and are connected to a larger ongoing research on the themes of historical mimesis and wonder.
